Aphoebantus escheri Bezzi, 1908: 28 View in CoL . Type locality: Algeria.
Diagnosis: Frons slightly projecting, dark in ground color, slightly shining especially at lower part, with black long hairs mixed with some few yellowish scales at lower part; face with long black bristly hairs mixed with few yellowish scales; antennae black. Thorax covered with sparse small scaly hairs become longer and more yellowish at posterior part, with bristles brownish black; scutellum shining with yellowish white scaly hairs and black bristles. Abdomen covered with small yellowish white scaly hairs, with bristly hairs black, long, more dense at margins and posterior segments. Male genitalia (fig. 2).
Distribution: Palaearctic: Algeria, Egypt.
Material examined: 1 male, Mariout, 5.4.1921 (H.C.E & M.T), determined by S. Paramonov; 1 male, 1 female, Mariout, 25.3.1927 (Efflatoun). [ EFC].
