Description of Conexibacter arvalis BS 10
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-pigmented and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, raised, entire and white-colored after 4 days on R2A at 30°C. Positive for urease and gelatinase in API 20NE but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis and βgalactosidase. D-Glucose is utilized. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, N-acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, gluconate, caprate adipate, malate, citrate and phenylacetate. Strain BS10 (= NIBRBA0000114831) has been isolated from spent mushroom compost, Yesan, Korea.
