Notes: — Lundell (1944) made the combination Cnidoscolus tepiquensis , and this publication was available in June of 1944. In September of the same year, McVaugh (1944) proposed the same combination. Following the ICN Art. 33, the author for this combination must be Lundell, although he himself in a later manuscript ( Lundell 1945) recognized McVaugh as the authority for this combination. Since then some articles, lists, and reports that include C. tepiquensis recognized McVaugh as the author (e.g. Williams 1962, Villaseñor 2016). However, this is incorrect.
