Cionus longicollis C.N.F. Brisout de Barneville, 1863 [nominotypical subspecies.]
Records. CRI KYI POL ZAK LWI IFR [ Fejfer 1924: 143; Gumovsky 1997: 63; Mazur 2002: 226]. Distribution. Central and East Europe ( Caldara 2013a).
Material examined. Poltava Prov.: 1 spec. ( ZIN) Poltava env., Th. Lukjanovitsh leg., 16.vi.1926 .
Biology. Meadows in forests, stony slopes, sandy habitats. Adults occur in V–VIII (Gumovsky 1997). On Scrophulariaceae : Verbascum thapsus ( Wingelmüller 1937; Smreczyński 1976; Gumovsky 1997); V. densiflorum , V. nigrum ( Dedyukhin 2012) .
Note. Distribution of nominative subspecies is restricted to West Mediterranean Region. All records of C. longicollis longicollis from Ukraine are based on misidentified C. longicollis montanus .
