Chrysosoma shixingense View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figs. 6–7 View FIGURES 6–7 )
Diagnosis. Antenna black; frons with 1 long pale curved hair on posterolateral slope; coxae black; FI with row of long pale spinelike ventral bristles (the longest bristles 4 times as long as width of FI).
Description. Male body length 4.4–5.0 mm, wing length 4.8–5.0 mm.
Head metallic green with pale gray pollen; vertex distinctly excavated, frons subshining. Hairs and bristles on head black; middle and lower postocular bristles (including posteroventral hairs) pale; frons with 1 long and 1 short strong pvt and 1 long pale curved hair on posterolateral slope, ocellar tubercle with 2 long strong oc and 2 rather short bristles. Antenna black; scape somewhat swollen; pedicel with circlet of apical bristles (including 1 long thick dorsal and 1 long thick ventral bristles, the ventral much longer than the dorsal); first flagellomere subconical, 2.2 times longer than wide; arista apical, blackish, simple, 1.2 times longer than head + thorax. Proboscis brown with blackish hairs; palpus blackish with pale hairs and 2 black bristles.
Thorax metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on thorax black; 2 strong posterior dc and 4 anterior hairs; 5–6 long irregularly paired acr; scutellum with 2 pairs of sc, basal pair short and weak. Legs black; coxae and trochanters black; apices of femora, bases and apices of tibiae, and t 25 brownish, t 1 dark yellow. Hairs and bristles on legs black; coxae with pale lateral hairs. Femora with long pale ventral hairs: FI with row of long pale spinelike ventral bristles (the longest bristles 4 times as long as width of FI); FII with row of long hairlike pale av and pv (2 times longer as long as width of FII); FIII with row of long hairlike pale av and pv (nearly as long as width of FIII). TI with 3–4 ad and 1pv at apical 1/5, apically with 2 long and 1 short bristles; TII with 3 ad, apically with 1 bristles; TIII with 1 ad at basal 1/5, 2 pd, and 5–6 pv, apically with 2 bristles. It 1 somewhat flattened with very short dense ventral pubescence from basal 1/6 to 2/3 ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 6–7 ). Relative lengths of tibia and tarsomeres: LI 2.5: 2.2: 0.7: 0.5: 0.3: 0.2; LII 4.6: 3.6: 1.0: 0.7: 0.4: 0.2; LIII 6.8: 3.0: 1.2: 0.7: 0.5: 0.2. Wing: hyaline, tinged with brown; veins dark brown, M 1 concave, crossvein mcu straight. Squama dark yellow, margin blackish with pale hairs. Halter yellow with pale knob.
Abdomen dark metallic green with gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on abdomen black, but sterna 1 – 3 with long pale hairs.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 6–7 ): Epandrium distinctly much longer than wide with 3 lateral hairs; surstylus rather thick, apically with some weak bristles and basally with a short fingerlike lateral process; hypandrium with narrow left lateral arm, nearly reaching apex of aedeagus; aedeagus bent; cercus furcated apically, with black bristles.
Female. Unknown.
Type material. Holotype male, Guangdong: Shixing, Chebaling , 24°58’N, 114°02’E, 10. 07. 2003, leg. Shuwen An. GoogleMaps Paratypes 3 males, same data as holotype but leg. Xingyue Liu. GoogleMaps
Distribution. China (Guangdong).
Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality Shixing.
Remarks. The new species is quite similar to C. guizhouense , but can be separated from the latter by following characters: proboscis brown, arista nearly as long as head + thorax, 5 – 6 long irregularly paired acr, ventral arm of male cercus without curved projection; in C. guizhouense , proboscis black, arista much longer than head + thorax, 4 – 5 irregularly paired acr, ventral arm of male cercus with strongly curved apicoinner projection.
