Material examined. Romania: 1♂, gonopods, slide preparation, “Rareul”, leg. “Hrevhan”, det. Attems (NHMW); 1♂, gonopods, slide preparation, Rodnageb. [Rodna Mts], Kuhhorn 3 [Ineu] (NHMW).
Distribution. Romania: Rodna Mts, Ineu peak (type locality) (Verhoeff 1899a).
Diagnosis. The smallest and most deviating subspecies of M. projectum . Differs from the other two subspecies by the broad and enlarged posterior process of the opisthomere (pp) ( Figs 4a–b, 4d View FIGURES 4 a – l ) and the short, ridge-like anterior process (ap) ( Fig. 4d View FIGURES 4 a – l ).
Solenomere processes (asp and psp) more or less equal in length.
Body length and height: male: 23.8mm, (21–28mm according to Verhoeff 1907), 1.7mm; females 29.9– 30.1mm, 2.5–2.7mm.
Remarks. Rare, strict endemic, its status has been clarified by Lazányi & Korsós (2011).
