Chorthophila perforans Rondani, 1866 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 156 (key), 163 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in planitie parmensi [ Parmese plains ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (postabdomen stored in glycerine in a microvial pinned below specimen) ( MZUF: Box 23): Chorthophila Mcq. / perforans Rnd. , Parma /1207.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Pegomya exilis ( Meigen, 1826) View in CoL ( Dely-Draskovits 1993: 80, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 8).
REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 163) described Chorthophila perforans from a single male, “ Unicum marem legi [I collected a single male]”, which he later ( Rondani 1877c: 209) considered as a synonym of Chorthophila chenopodii Rondani, 1866 . Hennig (1973a: 578) reported one type (♂) in the MZUF. Michelsen (1980b: 304) considered the MZUF specimen as the holotype. Rondani described this nominal species under the generic name Chorthophila , which is an “unjustified emendation of Chortophila Macquart, 1835 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 57).
