Chirothrips faurei View in CoL zur Strassen
Chirothrips faurei zur Strassen, 1957: 432.
Described from South Africa where it breeds on Aristida spp. (zur Strassen 1957), this species is similar to C. molestus from Europe. However, faurei is distinguished by the head bearing four setae on vertex and the prolongation of head in front of eyes being rather short, less than 10 microns. In contrast C. molestus the head bears 6–8 setae on vertex and the head prolongation in front of eyes is more than 18 microns (zur Strassen 1960).
Material studied. Al Baha. Almendaq , three females from Marrubium vulgare , 6.iv.2019, ( BT), Rasool, I .
