Three hemigaleid species were assessed and they exhibited a between-group mean distance of 7.50 ± 0.56%. Each species formed a distinct cluster ( Fig. 2 View Figure 2 ), with Hemipristis elongata displaying a mean distance of 17.09 ± 1.34 and 16.24 ± 1.43% with Paragaleus randalli and Chaenogaleus macrostoma , respectively. The latter two species displayed a mean distance of 10.29 ± 1.16%. Only H. elongata and P. randalli were included in the Naylor et al. (2012) study, and each formed a single cluster. The addition of the current specimens did not result in any subdivisions within these species.
