* Cerithium (Granulolabium) plicatum Brug. var. trinodosa Schff. — Schaffer 1912: 152, pl. 51, figs 36–40 [non Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Schaffer (1912: pl. 51, fig. 42), the specimen seems to be lost.
Type locality. Maria Dreieichen ( Austria) .
Stratigraphy. Early Miocene, Eggenburgian.
Discussion. The type specimens represent morphotypes of Granulolabium plicatum (Bruguière, 1792) with three prominent spiral cords. These co-occur at the type locality along with typical G. plicatum and there is little reason to treat these shells as distinct taxon. The name Cerithium trinodosum is variously preoccupied by Deshayes (1866: pl. 82) and Reis (1897: 88). As we treat this species as a subjective junior synonym of G. plicatum , no replacement name is needed.
