Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Simionescu & Barbu (1940: pl. 1, fig. 31). We are not aware of the whereabouts of the type specimens.
Type locality. Chişinău ( Moldova) .
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, Sarmatian (Bessarabian).
Discussion. This taxon is based on specimens of Terebralia menestrieri with delicate sculpture of small beads but with marked varices.
Eastern Paratethys. Sarmatian, Bessarabian (Late Miocene): Moldavian Platform: Chişinău ( Moldova) ( Simionescu & Barbu 1940).
