Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.

Discussion. The name was introduced by Teisseyre (1908: 284) as nomen nudum in a list of species from the Dosinia -beds of the Moldavian Platform (e.g., VulcăneȘti, Moldova) and the Dacian Basin (e.g., BuȘtenari, Romania). From this context, it is most likely that he had specimens of Potamides taitboutii at hand.

Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Dacian Basin: Buzău, Prahova and Râmnicu-Sărat regions ( Teisseyre 1908).
