In male crown yellow with median irregular large black spot, ocelli black. Face yellow with one lateral spot on frontoclypeus, black. Pronotum pale brown with posterior submarginal black transverse band, mesonotum yellow with broad small triangles on mesoscutum, dark brown. Forewing reddish brown with one longitudinal stripe extending entire length along outer margin of claval suture and slightly widening beyond clavus; clavus blackish at base. Hind wing smoky. Thoracic pleurites and sternites yellow. Legs yellow, one spot on each forefemur dark brown. Female with dark coloration much reduced and forefemoral spot absent, but forewing black stripe and lateral spots on frontoclypeus well developed.
Male genitalia. Pygofer longer than broad, abruptly narrowed about midlength, dorsal margin concave, ventral margin oblique in middle then dorsally curved, posterodorsal angle acutely rounded, ventral process about as long as dorsal margin of pygofer, slightly widened before acute apex. Subgenital plate longer than posterior margin of pygofer, outer margin convex medially, with few hair-like setae near apical region and with submarginal row of macrosetae along inner margin. Style fairly long, with well developed heel and foot. Aedeagus with well developed deeply bilobed dorsal apodeme closely appressed to basal region of shaft, shaft of uniform width, beyond gonopore bifid and strongly anteriorly and ventrally curved; gonopore subapical on dorsal margin. Segment X long, exceeding posterior margin of pygofer, without processes.
Female genitalia. Seventh sternite about as long as sixth, posterior margin more or less slightly convex. First and second pair of valvulae as described under generic diagnosis ( Figs 11 E–H View FIGURES 11 ).
Measurements. Male 6.0 mm long, 1.2 mm wide across eyes and 1.3 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum. Female 6.6 mm long, 1. 3 mm wide across eyes and 1.4 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum.
Material examined. INDIA: Manipur, 1 ♂, Phunglei , 1.x.1909, ex rice bean ( BMNH) ; 1 ♂, Shirul Kashong, 25o07’35.7” N, 94o26’083” E, 2763 m, 22.viii.2014, Prathapan & Shameem coll.; 1 ♀, Pallel, Saibom , 1387 m, 24o23’50” N, 94o05’20: E, 21.viii.2014, Sweepnet, Yeshwanth ( UASB) .
Remarks. The structure of male pygofer posterior lobe and ventral process vary in the two recorded specimens (Figs A–C). This is the first record of the species from the Indian subcontinent.
