Range: —Andes from Venezuela, Ecuador to Bolivia (CO, LP, SC).
Ecology: —Very common, epiphytic, rarely saxicolous, or terrestrial in disturbed humid forests; 700–3200 m.
Notes: —This species belongs to the taxonomically difficult C. amphostenon complex. In Bolivia, it can be confused with C. solutum , from which it differs by having persistent shiny dark brown rhizome scales in mass, and by the petiole length 1/3 or less the laminar length.
