T a x o n o m i c n o t e s. This species is diagnosed by the red thorax and distinct red blotch on either side of the first gastral segment ( Collingwood, 1962). Our worker specimens from Nepal well agree with the redescription of the species in Wachkoo (2015), and the colour pattern seems constant in Nepalese specimens. This species closely resembles C. wasmanni but can be diagnosed by the presence of reddish mesosoma, petiole and first gastral tergite.
