TYPE LOCALITY. — Loyalty Ridge, Mont J, 23°49’S, 169°48’E, 685-715 m [BATHUS 3: stn DW 790].

DISTRIBUTION. — New Caledonia, Loyalty Ridge and Vanuatu, shells in 487-715 m.

DESCRIPTION. — Shell up to 2.53 mm long, translucent. Maximum diameter at centre of shell. In lateral view, ventral side has a regular, pronounced curve, dorsal side has an alternating slightly concave and convex outline. Dorsal view fusiform, without caudal constriction. Apex simple, wide, section oval, dorsoventrally compressed. Preapical callus conspicuous, lumen oval dorsoventrally. Mouth slightly laterally compressed.

Measurements of holotype: L 2.53, W 0.73-0.66, mouth 0.40-0.36, w 0.33-0.30.

REMARKS. — This small species differs from all similar ones mainly in the absence of a caudal constriction and in its wide posterior aperture.

ETYMOLOGY. — Named from the Loyalty Ridge, the type locality.
