Type material. Holotype: ɞ from São Paulo [23º32' S; 46º38' W], São Paulo, Brazil, no date, no collector ( IBSP 27478).

Etymology. The specific name is taken from the Tupi Indian language and means “long and slender” and refers to the tip of the embolus of the male palp. Unchangeable.

Diagnosis. The males of Caayguara poi sp. nov. resemble those of C. atyaia sp. nov. by the very slender tip of the embolus bent prolaterally ( Figs 59 View FIGURES 59 – 63 , 64 View FIGURES 64 – 65 ). They are distinguished from the latter by the bifid embolus with small ventral keel and inconspicuous pars pendula ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 64 – 65 ; vk) and RTA with smooth spine-like dorsal projection and no ventral spines in the male palp ( Figs 64–65 View FIGURES 64 – 65 ; dp).
