Ochraceous with dark brown and black markings. Head ochraceous yellow, one large transverse spot on crown between eyes and one elongate oval spot on upper part of face on frontoclypeus black, anterior spot on crown and median carina on frontoclypeus dark brown. Pronotum with submarginal stripe extending forward and narrowing anteriorly chocolate brown, hind margin hyaline. Mesonotum chocolate brown except pale white lateral margins. Forewing chocolate brown except submarginal longitudinal hyaline stripe at basal half and costal narrow margin in apical half, apical area paler.
Male genitalia. Pygofer with caudal margin slightly thickened, posterodorsal angle lobe-like. Valve straplike with anterior apodemes. Subgenital plate exceeding pygofer, with slender setae. Connective with stem twice as long as arms, apex broadened. Aedeagus in lateral view with well developed extension of atrium, posterior margin with well developed ventral angular projection at mid length, shaft exceeding lateral lobes and strongly curved anteriorly, with lateral rounded lobe; dorsal apodeme large, platelike, entire aedeagus appearing like a dwarfed tuning fork in ventral view.
Measurements. Male 4.6 mm long, 1.1 mm wide across eyes and 1.2 mm wide across hind margin of pronotum.
Material examined. Holotype ♂, INDIA: Mizoram: Aizawl , 18.xi.1981, C.S. Wesley ( UASB) . Paratype 1 ♂ same data except Lunglei , 24.xi.1981. ( UASB)
Remarks. B. acutivertex has a similar coloration as in B. venata but has strongly acutely pointed head and the crown is slightly longer than pronotum (see also remarks under the latter species).
