This grass living genus comprises eleven species worldwide ( Rachana & Varatharajan 2017), of which 10 were described from the Old World, and B. venustus from central America. In Arabian Peninsula, B. dimorphus is known from Yemen (zur Strassen 2004) and UAE (zur Strassen & van Harten 2008). The genus can be recognized by: head with three pairs of ocellar setae; maxillary palps 2 or 3-segmented; antennae 7–8 segmented, segment I with 1–2 dorsal apical setae, III–IV with simple or forked sense cones; meso and meta furcae without spinula; abdominal tergites I–VIII with CPS close to posterior margin; tergites with teeth, crespeda or continuous flange along posterior margin.
