ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1880: 9 (key), 12 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Germania [ Germany]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (dirty and covered with mold) ( MZUF: Box 36): Copromyza Fall. Borborus Meg. / roserii Rndn., Germ. [= Germany] / 1911 / Holotypus Borborus roserii Rondani , ♂, labeled by A.L. Norrbom, XII.[19]84 / Crumomyia roserii (Rondani) , det. A.L. Norrbom, 1984.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Copromyza roserii ( Papp 1984d: 78, Norrbom et al. 2001: 65); valid species, as Crumomyia roserii ( Marshall et al. 2011: 227) View in CoL .
REMARKS: Rondani (1880: 12) described Borborus roserii from a single male: “ marem unicum observavi a Clar. De Roser olim missum [I observed a single male formerly sent by Mr. von Roser]”.
