( Figs. 19–20 View FIGURES 17 – 24 , 42, 56–57)
Identification. Robust species, with long horn on both clypeal apex and postfrons. B. ludekingi is structurally very similar to the next species, B. walshi , but appears different and quite variable in its dorsal colour pattern. Colour pattern varies strongly, usually with much symmetric yellow and orange, but pronotal disc never purplish red, as is common in B. walshi , and pronotal sides less densely punctate. Elytra occasionally has lighter (yellow) interstriae, with strial impressions slightly infuscated (not as strong as in B. nigriceps ). Pronotum (at least in larger individuals) with pair of slight antediscal protrusions and very distinct median sulcus. Minor specimens may superficially be similar to B. catenatus , but the males of this species have very different genitalia, and usually a distinct yellow to red patch shortly behind and separated from the elytral base. Body length of B. ludekingi usually 10–12 mm.
Distribution. Indonesia: Sumatra.
