Type locality. Peru, Lares, Abra Lares, m 4000.
Examined material. HT ♂ (CGi), 7 PTT ♂ and 6 PTT ♀ (CAl, CGi, CMa) (complete TS).
Note. This species belongs to the group of B. jelskii ( Tschitschérine, 1897) , which includes 5 species distributed in the Andes of southern Peru and distinguished by the peculiar morphology of aedeagus ( Allegro & Giachino 2011a).
Distribution. Probably restricted to the Andean district of Cuzco (southern Peru).
Habitat. All the recorded specimens (legit M. Etonti) are from high altitude (4,000–4,200 m a.s.l.) Andean grasslands.
