Biropalostoma goofi (Bamber & Sheader, 2003)

Pakistanapseudes goofi Bamber & Sheader, 2003 , 169–176, figs 1–5. Bamber & Sheader, 2005: 296. Biropalostoma goofi Guţu, 2008: 59 .

Material examined: 5♀♀ (2 ovigerous), 1♂ (BMNH 2013.885–889), Site DA1; 1♀, Site DA2; both Station DA, 05°54′28.5"N 114°38′23.3"E, 20 m depth, sand; March 2009.

Remarks: Biropalostoma goofi is recognizable from other sympatric parapseudid species by the inner hooklike spines on the antennal peduncle, the distal merus spines on the cheliped, the epistomal spine and in having four blunt ventral spines on the propodus of pereopod 1. The rostrum appears rounded, but does have a small central spine-like apophysis (not as conspicuous as that of Actenos marshalli , see above, more like that of Platylicoa angela sp. nov., see below).

The previous records for this species are all off the South China Sea coastline of Borneo, off Sabah at 23– 35 m.
