5. Batriscenellus transformis View in CoL species group
Diagnosis. Male abdominal tergite V with sparse long setae at posterior margin, setae partially covering wide basomedian excavation of tergite VI, lacking lateral setiferous patches; without tuft of specialized setae at the posteromedian margin of tergite VI
Remarks. Specimens of this group closely resemble those of the B. admonitor group. The two groups may be separated by the wider fringe of setae at the posterior margin of tegite V, the very broad excavation of tergite VI, and the lack of a tuft of setae at the posteromedian margin of tergite VI in the B. transformis group.
Batriscenellus transformis was previously included in the subgenus Nipponoscenellus . It is known only from Japan and is the only representative of this species group.
