Type locality. Laccadive Sea, 1164 m.
Remarks. The character best distinguishing this species from others in the region is the form of the propodus of the walking legs, which is distally widened and subchelate with the dactylus. These specimens constitute the first record of the species from Australia.
Distribution. Madagascar, Arabian Sea, Laccadive Sea, Zanzibar and Maldives, Andaman Sea, South China Sea, Moro Gulf off Zamboanga, Mindanao, southwestern Australia, Philippines, Kei Islands and the Soloman Islands; 283–1164 m
