Diagnosis. Forewing length is 16–17 mm in females. The position of B. helenae within the species-group is unclear as its male genitalia are unknown. Externally, this species resembles B. maculifasciata , but differs by its medial line being entire, slightly wavy and well separated from the antemedial line (in B. maculifasciata , that is interrupted, evenly curved and situated very close to the antemedial line), much larger discal spot, which is situated at the same distance from the medial and postmedial lines (that is smaller and is situated close to the postmedial line), postmedial line loop-like curved opposite the cell (in B. maculifasciata , that is angled on the vein M 2), and narrower subterminal areas of both, fore- and hindwing. The female genitalia differ clearly from those of B. maculifasciata by their much longer antrum without large postero-lateral lobes, much smaller appendix bursae and much smaller signum. The female genitalia structure more resemble that of B. syntypicoida sp. n. due to the very long and narrow antrum, but differs clearly by the presence of trigonal postero-lateral processes of antrum (in B. syntypicoida sp. n., the antrum is broadened posteriorly and has no postero-lateral processes), the absence of a posterior sclerotized area of corpus bursae, and the much smaller, conical appendix bursae (that is very broad and sack-like in B. syntypicoida sp. n.).
Distribution. North Thailand (Chiang Rai and Phayao).
