Diagnosis. Antennomere XI strongly elongate, about 4 times as long as III. Elytral punctuation evenly sparse and coarse. Lateral portion of metaventrite sparsely and finely punctuate. Ventrite I sparsely and coarsely punctuate. Parameres asymmetrical; inner sac with sclerites and fine scale-like and denticulate structures. Spermatheca with two capsules.
Redescription. Body broad-oval, shining. Disc of pronotum and elytra dark reddish-brown; basal and apical portion of elytra and remainder of pronotum reddish-brown; frons, labrum, maxillary palpi, tarsi and antennomere I–V yellowish-brown; antennomeres VI–XI dark yellowish-brown; head black. Head, pronotum and elytra sparsely and finely pubescent.
Head with interocular distance about twice as eye width. Punctuation sparse and fine. Antennomeres I–VI with a few macrosetae, VII–XI covered with some macrosetae; VIII about twice as long as III; XI about 4 times as long as III (Fig. 30).
Pronotum wider than long, lateral keel distinct except near basal angles. Punctuation sparse and fine, as on head. Scutellum almost as long as wide, with exposed apex.
Elytra wider than long, widest at basal fourth, lateral margins gradually narrowed apically, minutely serrate at inner part of posterior margin; punctuation evenly sparse and coarse ( Fig. 81 View FIGURES 76 – 83 ). Sutural striae extending outwards along basal margin to form complete basal stria joined to lateral striae.
Propygidium sparsely and coarsely punctuate; pygidium with 4 macrosetae, sparsely and coarsely punctuate in basal half, finely punctuate from basal half to apex, and truncate at apex.
Hypomeron impunctate. Mesoventrite sparsely and finely punctuate, as pronotum. Metaventrite sparsely and finely punctuate at lateral and middle portion, edge of middle portion coarsely punctuate. Mesepimeron about four times as long as wide. Mesocoxa almost twice as wide as interspace between mesocoxa; mesocoxal area narrow. Metepimeron almost as long as wide. Metacoxa about twice as wide as metacoxal process. Metanepisternum about third as long as wide. Ventrite I with 4 macrosetae, sparsely and coarsely punctuate, and mingled with finely punctures at sides; V with 8 macrosetae, sparsely and finely punctuate, and gradually narrower toward apex.
Meso- and metafemora with microsculpture, sparsely and coarsely punctuate.
Male. Protarsomeres I–III enlarged with tenent setae. Aedeagus about 0.63 mm long; parameres asymmetrical ( Fig. 68 View FIGURES 68 – 75 ); inner sac with sclerites and fine scale-like and denticulate structures ( Fig. 70 View FIGURES 68 – 75 ).
Female. Protarsomeres I–III weakly enlarged without tenent setae. Distal gonocoxite normal (Fig. 55); vagina membranous, without robust sclerites; bursa copulatrix not sclerotized.
Measurements (n = 8). Length (PL+EL): 2.25–2.49 mm; width (PW, EW): 1.30–1.43 mm, 1.37–1.58 mm. PL/PW: 0.73–0.81; EL/EW: 0.86–0.97. HW: 0.53–0.56 mm. ID: 0.26–0.29 mm.

Distribution. Japan: Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu.
Comments. The description of this species was based on a female. Subsequently, Löbl (1984b) illustrated the parameres, while other aedeagal characteristics are illustrated for the first time in the present paper. The scutellar line of the scutellum is slightly different from that in other Japanese species and resembles type II (cf. Leschen & Löbl 2005).
