TYPE SPECIES. — Azyrtalia dilata Nazarov, 1973 ( Nazarov 1973: 12, pl. 1, figs 9-11).
AGE AND LOCATION OF TYPE MATERIAL. —LowerCambrian, Kazakhstan.
TAXON CODE. — 337.
REMARKS
This genus is recognized and treated as a sponge spicule by Bengtson (1986) and Kozur et al. (1996). It is likely to represent the senior synonym of the sponge spicule genus Rigbyella Mostler & Mosleh-Yazdi (1976) – see Elicki (2011) for discussion.
