Bathymetric distribution: 0.3– 2 m —SW.
Geographical distribution: USA (North Carolina) to Argentina —WGD.
Remarks: According to Lamy (1932), this species was described based on specimens collected from Brazil. However, Lamarck (1819) did not refer to this in his description.
