Diagnosis. Males of Ariadna ubajara n. sp. are similar to A. caerulea due to the morphology of palps ( Figs 25A‒B View FIGURE 25 , 59F‒G View FIGURE59 ), but differ by the presence of males with a sinuous metatarsi I ( Fig. 59C‒E View FIGURE59 ).

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality, Parque Nacional de Ubajara, Ubajara, Ceará, Brazil.

Description. Male (Holotype). Carapace and chelicerae dark reddish brown ( Fig. 59A View FIGURE59 ). Endites orange; labium dark orange. Sternum orange with darker margins, and three pairs of dark marginal areas, the hind one fainted ( Fig. 59B View FIGURE59 ). Palps orange ( Fig. 59F‒G View FIGURE59 ). Legs brownish orange, pairs I‒II darker, with the metatarsus marbled with dark pigment, and dark diffuse rings in the distal region ( Fig. 59C‒E View FIGURE59 ). Abdomen grey, lighter ventrally, and with transversal thin clear lines dorsally ( Fig. 59A‒B View FIGURE59 ). Total length 9.04; carapace 4.4 long, 3.12 wide. Palps: tibia incrassated, with the dorso-ventral diameter longer than the bulb; bulb sub-rectangular, midportion shorter than the embolus; embolus thickened and with a tubular tip ( Fig. 59F‒G View FIGURE59 ). Legs: robust and coated with setae ( Fig. 59C‒E View FIGURE59 ); tarsal brush of putative chemosensory setae present in tarsi I‒IV, extending to the median region of the metatarsi IV, but reduced in leg I.
