Distribution and remarks: East Atlantic: known from Norway to Gibraltar and Congo, including the Mediterrane- an and the Black Sea. Records for Gabon: MRAC P-97680 (1948), P-88019.0054. Adults specimens (called “Moafy”) targeted during the month of May and June by the artisanal fishery of Mayumba around the Ponga point. Targeted for the swim bladder traffic (De Bruyne, pers. com.).
