9. Ardissonea pulcherrima (Hantzsch) Grunow ( Figs 58–60 View FIGURES 58–68 )
Basionym: Synedra pulcherrima Hantzsch.
References: Mann 1925, p. 159, pl. 37, fig. 1; Hustedt 1931 –1959, p. 236, fig. 722; Cheng & Gao 2013, p. 57, fig. 139.
Type locality: East Indies .
Morphometrics: Valves 306 (240–750) μm in length, 30 (18–28) μm in width, transapical striae 9 (9) in 10 μm.
Remarks: This species is distinguished from neighboring taxa of similar morphology in that the apices of the valve are wedge-shaped and thickly expanded. It was reported from Philippines ( Mann 1925, Podzorski & Håkansson 1987), from Cuba ( Foged 1984), from China ( Cheng & Gao 2013). Only a few cases are recorded worldwide, and it must be a tropical taxon from the occurring localities or the type locality. This taxon was encountered rarely in a rock pool along the Seogwipo coast, and is newly reported to South Korea.
