Megasyringophilus kethleyi Fain, Bochkov and Mironov, 2000 View in CoL
Up to now, M. kethleyi was recorded from three parrot species in Brazil, Aratinga jandaya (Gmelin) , Eupsittula pertinax (Linnaeus) , and Brotogeris versicolurus (St. Muller) ( Fain et al. 2000; Bochkov & Fain 2003). In the present study, a new host record and a new locality for this mite species is provided.
Material examined. Five females from Eupsittula canicularis (Linnaeus) ( Psittaciformes : Psittacidae ), MEXICO: Michoacan, Huacana, 30 January 1981, coll. A. Estrada; mite specimens deposited in FMNH.
