Zoogeographic element. European.

Distribution. Northern, Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe (Balkan Peninsula).

Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Azuga (LL83) (Fleck 1904); Şura-Mare (KL78), Braşov (LL85) (Bielz 1887), Retezat (FR52), Predeal (LL83), Ciucaş (ML04), Sighişoara (LM21), Cisnadioara (KL76), Turnu- Roşu (KL85) (all: Ormay 1890), Hateg (FR55), (Petri 1912); Bucegi Mt. (LL82) (Ieniştea 1941); Seaca Valley (Piatra Craiului) (LL63) (Nitzu et al. 2010); Giumaläu (LN85) (Nitzu & Olenici 2009); Mt. Rodnei, 1390 and 1269 m (LN25) (Nitzu et al. 2008); Maramureş (Coman) (LN19) (Niţu 2008). Hypogeal records.
