Tribe Anhomoeini , found only in the Eastern Hemisphere, is represented taxonomically by 5 species of a single genus, Anhomoeus . Anhomoeus nepalensis shows a diploid chromosome complement of 2n=21=18+ 2m +X0 ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 22 – 26 ), as also reported in Anhomoeus sulcatus by Kaur & Bansal (2012a). Although their complements are similar in both species, but marked differences are recorded. In Anhomoeus nepalensis , autosomes show size gradation from large to small and the X chromosome is the largest element of the complement; whereas in Anhomoeus sulcatus , one autosome is distinctly large and X is almost equal to one of the small autosomes (Kaur & Bansal 2012a).
