Gynoxys auriculata Turczaninow (1851b: 86) View in CoL , non Senecio auriculatus Burman (1768: 181) View in CoL . Type:— ECUADOR. Pichincha, from Pichincha, W. Jameson s.n. (lectotype: US-00122889 digital image!, designated here; isolectotype: BM-001191596 digital image!, KW-001001523 digital image!).

Nomenclatural notes: —The similarity between the specimen BM-001191596 and the original material of G. auriculata Turczaninow (1851b: 86) View in CoL led us to think that it was mislabeled as Jameson 636 (type material of G. prenanthifolia View in CoL ). As indicated by the same phenology, size, habit, and preservation conditions as in the material located at US and KW, we consider it an isolectotype of G. auriculata View in CoL .
