Cosmetura nigrogeniculata Liu & Wang, 1998 View in CoL , Henan Science, 16: 72, 75; Liu, 2004, The fauna Orthopteroidea of Henan, 482.

Acometura nigrogeniculata Liu, 2000 , Zoological Research, 21: 221; Liu & Zhou, 2007, Acta Zootaxonomica Sinica, 32: 190, 192, 195; Liu, Zhou & Bi, 2008, Acta Zootaxonomica Sinica, 33: 761, 766.

Holotype: male; type locality: Baotianman, Neixiang, Henan, China; location of type specimen: Shanghai Entomological Museum of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Redescription. Posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite with small median spine and posterior margin of subgenital plate faintly concave, but in some specimens, the median spine slightly larger and the concavity deeper. Posterior margin of left tegmen obtusely rounded; stridulatory area roughly trapezoid. Stridulatory file weakly bent, 1.6 mm long, with about 67 teeth. Genitalia sclerotized, linguiform, apex obtusely rounded, slightly concave in middle.

Female: Body slightly larger. Fastigium verticies stout and short, conical, with a longitudinal sulcus in midline, apex obtusely rounded. Eyes globular, obviously protruding outwards. Apical segment of maxillary palpi longer than subapical one, apices slightly widened.

Anterior margin of pronotum nearly straight, posterior margin narrowly rounded, median carinae indistinct; lateral lobes 1.5 times as long as high, posterior margin narrowing; humeral sinus absent.

Tegmina slightly surpassing posterior margin of pronotum, reaching the middle of second abdominal tergite. Hind wings absent.

All femora without spines on ventral surface. Procoxae with a spine; protibiae with 4 spines on inner and outer sides of ventral surface; tibial tympana open on both sides, ovoid. Mesotibiae with 3–5 inner spines and 4–6 outer spines on ventral surface. Posttibiae with 27–31 spines on inner and outer sides of dorsal surface separately, apex with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs.

Posterior margin of tenth nearly straight or with 1 small triangular concavity in middle. Cerci conical, apices acute. Ovipositor gently curved upwards, edges smooth, base stout, narrowing, dorsal valvulae slightly longer than ventral one. Subgenital plate with nearly semicircular, basal half broad, basal margin trapezoid concave; lateral margins expanded, slightly curved ventrad; apical half narrowing, posterior margin with 1 shallowly concavity in middle.

Coloration. Body light yellowish green (probably light green when alive). Disc of pronotum with a broad longitudinal stripe, the outer margins of the stripe light yellow. Apical area of postfemora and basal area of posttibiae brown. Dorsal surface of abdominal tergite with a longitudinal blackish brown stripe.

Material examined. 3 males, Baotianman, Neixiang, Henan, China, 14 August 2009, coll. by Li-Ying Guo; 4 males and 3 females, Wudangshan, Hubei, China, 24 July, 2002, coll. by Fu-Ming Shi; 1 male, Wudangshan, Hubei, China, 5 August, 1999, coll. by Chao-Ming Wei; 1 male, Wudangshan, Hubei, China, 11 September, 2011, coll. by Jian-Feng Li.
