Note: Wayana would distinguish two kinds of Pasina, the tïkolokem (white) and takpilem (red). This last one could be either Myleus rubripinnis during the spawning season, or a second species much rarer, M. knerii .

Note: Palikur and Creoles know this species of the Uaçá basin that sporadically enters the Oyapock by the Juminã spillway swamp.

Note: Palikur and Creole people are acquainted with this species from the Uaçá basin.

Serrasalmus rhombeus (Linnaeus, 1766) : piray-lannuit,

poson-sizo, piray-nwé (C); pilay (K); ivap, umayan ivap (P); pëne (Wa); pilen (B); pireng (S); piranha noir (F); piranhapreta, piranha-seca, pirambeba (Br); black piranha (E).

Note: This species can only be found in the Iracoubo, Mana and Maroni basins. Palikur and Creole people are acquainted with a very similar species, Serrasalmus maculatus , from the Uaçá basin, which is accidentally present in the lower Oyapock.
