FEMALE (Specimens measured – South Africa: 10).

Dorsum – Anterior half of dorsal shield oval and posterior half, rectangular. Shield, 299­385 long and 170­246 wide, smooth with a few striae anterolaterally. Setae: j1 25­31, j3 13­26, j4 7­9, j5 7­9, j6 9­14, J2 9­14, J5 6, z2 9­17, z4 9­17, z5 7­9, Z1 9­14, Z4 9­14, Z5 50­54, s4 16­31 S2 9­14, S4 9­15, S5 9­15, r3 13­25, R1 7­9. Dorsal setae smooth except Z5 which are serrated.

Peritreme – Reaching level of setae j3.

Venter – All ventral shields are smooth. Distances between ST1­ST3 50­52, ST2­ST2 60­63 and ST5­ST5 68­72. Two pairs of metapodal shields. Ventrianal shield 86­111 long, 44 wide at ZV2 level and 69­72 at anus level.

Chelicera – Movable digit 25 long, with 1 tooth; fixed digit 28 long, with 7 teeth.

Spermatheca – Calyx 13 long with atrium nestled in a U­shaped bend of one side of calyx.

Legs – Macrosetae with hyaline knobs distally: SgeIII 25, Sge IV 34­39, Sti IV 23­31, StIV 41­62; chaetotaxy of genu II 2­2/0, 2/0­1, genu III 1­2/1,2/0­1.

MALE (Specimens measured – South Africa: 6).

Dorsum – Dorsal shield 249­255 long. Setae j1 22­25, j3 16, j4 6­9, j5 7­9, j6 9­14, J2 9­14, J5 6, z2 11­13, z4 11­13, z5 7­9, Z1 9­14, Z4 9­14, Z5 41­46, s4 16­19, S2 9­13, S4 9­13, S5 9­16, r3 16, R1 9.

Peritreme – Reaching level of setae z2.

Venter – Ventrianal shield 85­97 long and 139 wide at anterior corners.

Chelicera – Shaft of spermatodactyl 25 long, mushroomlike distally.

Legs – SgeIII 19­22, SgeIV 28­33, StiIV 21­25, StIV 32­45.
