<spm:hasContent> Diagnosis. While in all Eugryllacrisspecies described so far from China(Bian & Shi 2016) and also the species described in the present paper from Vietnamthe female seventh abdominal sternite terminates into a distinct process from middle of posterior margin, in the new species that process is reduced to a small tubercular structure only faintly projecting from the hind margin and the subgenital plate is curved in basal area and afterwards flat and triangular with rounded tip, not furrowed or grooved as in the other species ( Fig. 8H). A similar situation is so far only described for one of the four females of what Karny (1930a)identified as G. ruficeps Serville, 1831from Java. But that female has the medial projection somewhat wider and more distinct than in the new species described here.</spm:hasContent>

<spm:hasContent> Description.Large species ( Fig. 4F). Head: Face large, oval; face in middle with fine transverse riffles, towards genae nearly smooth; fastigium verticis more than twice as wide as scapus; ocelli indistinct; fastigium frontis separated from fastigium verticis by a very fine suture; a pair of weak sub-antennal furrows, starting at internal angle of antennal scrobae, separates central area of face from lateral areas and fuses ventrally with clypeofrontal suture; clypeo-frontal suture interrupted in middle; subocular furrows distinct ( Fig. 5J). Wings surpassing mid of hind tibia and reaching about tip of ovipositor ( Fig. 4F). Tegmen: Radius with two branches, both forked near tip; media anterior fused in basal area with radius; media posterior absent; cubitus anterior forks before mid-length into two veins, CuA1 and CuA2; cubitus posterior undivided, free throughout; with 5 anal veins. Legs: Fore coxa with a rather large spine at fore margin; fore and mid femora unarmed; fore and mid tibiae with 4 pairs of comparatively short ventral spines and 1 pair of smaller ventral spurs; hind femur with 8 external and 5 internal spines on ventral margins; hind tibia with spaced spines on both dorsal margins, ventral margins with one pre-apical spine each; with 3 apical spurs on both sides. Coloration. General color light brown (originally conserved in alcohol); vertex unicolored; disc of pronotum unicolored, hind margin little darker. Legs of general color. Face medium brown with indistinctly outlined lighter and darker areas, ventral area of clypeus and labrum yellowish brown; tips of mandibles and a small spot around baso-internal angle of mandibles black; compound eyes dark reddish brown. Tegmen semi-transparent white in distal, yellowish in proximal area, veins yellow to light brown; hind wing semi-transparent white, veins light brown, cells between cross-veins brown. Male unknown. Female. Seventh abdominal sternite of normal size but apical margin with a short obtuse projection covering very base of subgenital plate. Subgenital plate triangular in general outline but with broad obtuse tip that has a very faint constriction in middle ( Figs. 8G–H). Base of ovipositor normal. Ovipositor upcurved, margins slightly and gradually narrowing towards tip; dorsal margin with a slight expansion before tip ( Fig. 9M). Measurements ( 1 female).—body w/wings: 52; body w/o wings: 40; pronotum: 9,5; tegmen: 41; tegmen width: 16; hind femur: 20; antenna: 120; ovipositor: 17 mm.</spm:hasContent>
