Type species. Periclimenes (Falciger) nilandensis Borradaile, 1915 . Gender: Masculine.
Diagnosis. Small sized pontoniine shrimps. Carapace smooth, with antennal and hepatic teeth; hepatic tooth larger than antennal, situated posterior and slightly below the level of antennal tooth. Rostrum well developed, long, compressed, deep in it medial part, rostral formula 2+7-5/4, posteriormost tooth of rostral series separated from the remained. Abdomen smooth, tergite III non carinate dorsally or produced posteriorly; pleurae rounded posteroventrally; telson slender, tapering distally, with acutely produced distal margin, with 2 pairs of small dorsal spines and 3 pairs of posterior marginal spines. Epistome unarmed. Ophthalmic somite without béc ocellaire. Eyes with large, with hemispherical cornea, eyestalk subcylindrical, with marked knob on it medial anterodorsal margin; with accessory pigment spot. Antennula and antenna normal, without special features, scaphocerite well developed. Epistome unarmed. Mandible stout, without palp. Maxillula with bilobed palp, well developed upper and lower laciniae. Maxilla with slender palp, well developed scaphognathide, with well developed endites. Maxilliped I with simple palp, basal endite broad, coxal endite smaller, exopod well developed, caridean lobe normal, epipod ear-shaped. Maxilliped II with normal endopod, exopod as in maxilliped I, with caridean lobe, epipod small, simple, without podobranch. Maxilliped III with slender segments, ischiomerus and basis fused, with marked suture, elongate exopod and arthrobranch are well developed. Pereiopod I with slender segments; palm with long and slender setae along it ventro-lateral margin; fingers simple. Pereiopod II slender, slightly unequal in length, similar in shape, fingers simple, with straight cutting edges, without molar process and fosse. Ambulatory pereiopods slender, propodus with small ventral and distolateral spines, dactyls simple and stout.
