Indonesia records: Between Bahuluang and Tambolongan, Selayar Islands ( Flores Sea) ( Hansen 1910). Depth range: Around 8–13 m ( Hansen 1910).

Global distribution: This species is distributed in the Philippines ( Hansen 1910; W.M. Tattersall, 1951); Indian Ocean (W.M. Tattersall 1922; Pillai 1965; Shyamasundari 1973; Grabe et al. 2004); Micronesia (W.M. Tattersall 1951; Murano 1983), Korea ( Ii 1964; Lee et al. 2015), Arabian Sea ( Nayeem et al. 1992) and Australia ( Lowry & Stoddart 2003; Talbot 2009).
