Puthz, 1981a: 16 (subgenus Parastenus ; Type locality: Jünnan:Siamonyang, 25 km N Ch’e-li, 850 m); Herman, 2001a: 2386; Smetana, 2004: 546 (Palaearctic catalog); Puthz 2013a: 1401; Schülke & Smetana, 2015: 840 (Palaearctic catalog).
Material examined: China: Yunnan: Lushui County, Xiaohe Country , Huiliucun , 3 males, 1 female, 2083 m, 2.V.2015. Mei-Ying Lin leg. (IZ-CAS).
Remarks: We found this species in Guangxi; this species has not the elytral spot and thus can be easily distinguished from S. zhangyejunianus Lv et Zhou , sp. nov. It can be easily distinguished from S. nabanhensis Lv et Zhou , sp. nov. by body more slender, elytra smaller and aedeagal median lobe ( Figs. 19A View FIGURE 19 & 20A) more slender, apical sclerotized area with an apical cuspidate projection.
Distribution: China (Yunnan), Laos.
