Comment: original vernacular name available (Art. 11.7.2): first used in latinized form by Seidlitz (1889 [Gatt.]: 126, as Platyscelina [incorrect stem formation]), generally accepted as in Bouchard et al. (2005: 502, as Platyscelidini ); incorrect original stem formation, not in prevailing usage; correction of stem by Egorov (1990: 401) in order to avoid homonymy with Platyscelidae Bate, 1862 in Crustacea .
