Comments. Lepidurus couesii was previously known from Idaho by a single record determined by F. Linder in 1946 (Rogers 2001). These two records represent first reports of this species from Idaho since then. Lynch (1972b) reported this species from Oregon, however he provided no locality data, or specimens (Rogers 2001). The pond in Madison County has since been stocked with rainbow trout ( Oncorhynchus mykiss ), and the fate of this population is uncertain, though presumed extirpated.
