Genus Ochrotrichia View in CoL

Ochrotrichia is the largest genus of Neotropical microcaddisflies with 226 species widespread across North, Central, and South America, including the West Indies ( Thomson 2023). Males usually have prominent inferior appendages often longer than wide, tergum X usually asymmetrical with or without processes and spines, and phallus long and unmodified. Wing venation varies greatly, but sometimes homologous veins are not easy to distinguish due to the high degree of fusion of the veins. Ochrotrichia species are classified into eight species groups, namely: Ochrotrichia aldama , O. arranca , O. blanca , O. cruces , O. lometa , O. tarsalis , O. tenanga and O. xena Species Groups ( Bueno-Soria 2009; Flint 1972).

So far 22 species are known in the country, mainly described by Flint & Bueno-Soria (1999) and Oláh & Johanson (2011) from South and Northwest Regions. Below, one new species is described from the Department of Cusco, southern Peru. A new record is given for O. puyana Bueno-Soria & Santiago-Fragoso 1992 , previously recorded only from Ecuador.
