Lectotype (Howe in Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 39: 201. 1912; Hawksworth in Bryologistl 2: 255. 1969): Herb. Linn. No. 1273.110, lowest specimen ( LINN) .

Current name: Ramalina farinacea (L.) Ach. ( Ramalinaceae).

Note: See discussion by Jørgensen & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 115: 309, 375, f. 29. 1994). Howe’s original type choice was subsequently restricted to one specimen by Hawksworth.
