LARGE-SCALED THICK-TOED GECKO

Pachydactylus scutatus Hewitt, 1927

MATERIAL.— Espinheira, 30 November 2013, 16º47ʹ51.8ʺS, 12º21ʹ15.2ʺE, 457 m ( CAS 254826 ) .

COMMENTS.— This specimen is the first published record of Pachydactylus scutatus for Angola. Pachydatylus scutatus angolensis is now recognized as a distinct species (see below; Bauer et al. 2002). Five additional specimens, all from Iona, are present in the Ditsong National Museum of Natural History (TM 40615–18 from Espinheira, TM 40751 from 16°54ʹS, 12°35ʹE).
