Types. Holotype: male from Cueva Mogote , Tercer Frente, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba (20°12'49.10"N, 76°18'31.93"W), under rocks, March 24, 2013, F. Cala col., deposited in IBSP164686. Paratypes: two females with same data as holotype, deposited in IBSP164687 and IBSP164688.

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.

Diagnosis. Male specimens of L. mogote sp. nov. resemble those of L. maisi sp. nov. and L. taino by the globose palpal tibiae in the male palp, but can be distinguished by the slender and curved embolus ( Figs. 25−26 View FIGURES 25 − 30 ). The females resemble those of L. caribbea and L. cubana by the shape of the spermathecae, but differ by the very long receptacles, of which the inner one is twice as large as the outer one, on a short base ( Figs. 45−46 View FIGURES 45 − 48 ).

Description. Male (holotype: IBSP164686): Carapace yellow, with cephalic region orange, paramedian bands and central posterior band gray ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 25 − 30 ). Chelicerae and labium orange. Endites orange distally and yellow basally. Legs orange. Palp with cymbium orange and rest grayish orange. Abdomen gray dorsally and white ventrally. Total length 6.7. Carapace 3.3 long, 3.1 wide. Clypeus 1.0 high. Eye diameters: ALE 0.5, PME 0.6, PLE 0.55. Leg measurements: I: femur 6.9/ patella 1.0/ tibia 7.0/ metatarsus 6.9/ tarsus 1.3/ total 23.1; II: 7.6/ 1.1/ 8.7/ 9.1/ 1.5/ 28.0; III: 6.1/ 1.1/ 5.4/ 6.7/ 1.2/ 20.5 IV: 6.5/ 1.2/ 6.0/ 8.0/ 1.3/ 23.0. Leg formula: 2143. Sternum 1.6 long, 1.4 wide. Palpal tibia 0.8 long, 0.5 wide. Palp as in figs 25−26.

Female (paratype: IBSP164687): Coloration as in male, except carapace darker ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25 − 30 ). Total length 7.2. Carapace 3.5 long, 3.0 wide. Clypeus 1.15 high. Eye diameters: ALE 0.5, PME 0.5, PLE 0.55. Leg measurements: I: femur 4.7/ patella 1.2/ tibia 4.9/ metatarsus 4.5/ tarsus 1.0/ total 16.3; II: 4.5/ 1.1/ 4.8/ 5.0/ 1.0/ 16.4; III: 4.1/ 1.0/ 3.4/ 4.1/ 0.8/ 13.4; IV: 4.4/ 1.1/ 3.8/ 4.8/ 1.0/ 15.1. Leg formula: 2143. Sternum 1.7 long, 1.5 wide. Palpal tibia 0.65 long, 0.25 wide. Palpal tarsus 1.0 long, slender at tip ( Figs. 27−28 View FIGURES 25 − 30 ). Epigynum as in figs. 45−46.

Variation. Female (n=3): total length 7.2−7.6, carapace 3.5−3.7 long, femur I 4.7−6.1 long. Palpal tibia 0.65−0.8 long, 0.2−0.25 wide. Palpal tarsus 1.0−1.1 long.

Additional examined material. CUBA. Santiago de Cuba: Tercer Frente, Cave in La Tabla (20°12'33.12"N, 76°19'9.48"W), under rocks, A. Sánchez, Nov. 17, 2000 (BSC291, 1♀).

Distribution. Known only from two localities in the north of Santiago de Cuba province, Cuba.
