( Figs. 13–17 View FIGURES 13 – 17 , 32 View FIGURES 30 – 34 , 35 View FIGURE 35 )

Material examined. Holotype male. BRAZIL. Pará: Ourém, Patauateua, faz. Gavião Real, 30.IV–3.V.1992, B. Mascarenhas e equipe col. ( MPEG). Paratype: BRAZIL. Mato Grosso: ɗ, Sinop, BR163, km 496, X.1975, O. Roppa ( RMNH).

Measurements. Total length: 14–14.2; head length: 1.97–2; head width: 2.4; pronotal width: 12–12.7; abdominal width: 6.4–6.8.

Jugae punctured ahead of tylus. Rostrum reaching middle of mesosternum. Pronotum with large and deep punctures. Humeral angles strongly developed and directed laterally (fig. 32), distal part with large and deep punctures. Ventral surface of pronotum dense and uniformly punctured. Pleura with dark stripes. Metasternal process with anterior projection long and conical, as long as wide at base (figs. 16–17). Scutellum with apex acute and punctured. Membrane of hemelytra light brown.

Male (figs. 13–15). Pygophore with dorsal rim covering the genital cup processes and base of proctiger (fig. 13). Posterolateral angles slightly developed, truncate, and rounded (figs. 13, 15). Ventral rim with shallow concavity, lobes large, thick, close to midline and surpassing level of posterolateral angles (fig. 14– 15). Genital cup processes not reaching dorsal rim and covered by paramere in posterior view (fig. 14). Paramere small, enclosed by pygophore, anterior lobe short and acute; posterior lobe long, narrow, bent laterally and reaching posterolateral angle (fig. 13–14). Proctiger reaching ventral rim (fig. 13, 15), dorsal concavities small.

Comments. This species can be recognized by the metasternal process as long as wide at base; genital cup processes covered by paramere in posterior view; ventral rim with large lobes closer to midline than in remaining species; posterior lobe of paramere long and narrow reaching posterolateral angle. The female is unknown. This species is quite similar to E. elongatispina and E. linnei because of the long humeral spines; jugae punctured ahead of the tylus; pronotum with punctures large and deep; anterior projection of the metasternal process long and conical; posterolateral angle of the pygophore short, truncate, and not reaching the level of the lobes of the ventral rim.

Distribution (fig. 35). BRAZIL: Pará, Mato Grosso.
